Why Shawntell; Why Now?

This is a loaded question usually posed by the party looking for the perfect candidate for the role they are hiring for however in my case this a question posed to myself. I am constantly self assessing and looking deep within myself to ensure I'm am soaking up the most that I can in the role I occupy. My role throughout Assistant Coach has been a journey of many learnings that carved out a perfect lane to Coach. I have supported the entire FANS model throughout my two years as a AC, prepared performance management documents & met with Associate Relations, helped associates & peers alike move on and upward through career development coaching all while coaching through a fun and informal lens and meeting goal and proudly living the values!
I am ready for my next step as coach and I feel prepared to hit the ground running! My most recent accomplishments are pulled from a three week stay in Richmond, VA in February for a class of 38 new hires. When I arrived there was an opportunity to become more efficient and crisp on who we were as a company and culture. I was able to immediately partner with peers on site to introduce a more efficient way of moving associates by using OneDrive. Next, I created a Fasci Toolkit comprised of everything a newbie needed to know in one place. The Toolkit is kept on OneDrive for updates and changes in flash to keep up with our ever changing environment. Next, we pulled the associates in and engaged them by allowing them to be apart of the process and allowing them to choose where they wanted to sit. This took some faith on my peers part to trust me with this one, but in the end it helped the associates to buy in to being empowered to make decisions. Lastly, I created 'What's Next Wednesday's' which encouraged them to remain adaptable and think about your next steps on your career journey today! I encouraged them to reach out to me so that I can partner them with someone in their area of interest so they could create a networking relationship. This is invaluable! I have 7 associates who have been partnered in that class alone. Before departing, I conducted a survey to ensure we were on the right track! The results showed that 98% of the class are 'All In' and believe that Capital One & its culture is the right spot for them! Richmond is now using the Fasci Toolkit (reduces handle time) for all incoming new hire classes and they are using OneDrive (Well Managed) for any associates who have to change seats.
So 'Why Shawntell; Why Now?" because she lives the culture and values, she partners with peers, coaches using behaviors that are conducive to meeting goal, she drives change and her intent matches her results!
